Day 3: Ocean Reading and Flying Yogis
Read about previous days here…
Sunday dawned gloriously clear and sunny.
Our happy group arrived at the dock in swimsuits with smiling faces, ready to rock and roll.
We took advantage of the weather and enjoyed an energizing paddle around Vacation Isle…
Followed by a balancing paddle yoga class, creating space in the body and cultivating peace in the mind.
Our yogis even showed us some new tricks~ check out Seanna and Tori in some impressive peacock variations!
Headstands, backbends, and full pigeons were blooming like flowers in the springtime.
After lunch, we all cruised up to Tourmaline surf park for an afternoon lesson in ocean knowledge.
With blustery onshore winds, we huddled together in hoodies and learned about swell direction, land formations, tides, winds, and how they all work together to shape conditions for surfing or paddling.
An afternoon surf session was scrapped due to the wind, but we found a way to have fun and practice our balance and team-building. Under the guidance of Seanna Santoshini Tracy and Lauren Narayani Neuhs, our awesome guest teachers from the Central Coast, we explored balance and flight through acro-yoga.
Acro-yoga combines yoga, thai massage, and acrobatics. The combination is both playful and therapeutic.
We practiced carrying each other around like backpacks, and flying each other in the air.
As the sun set, we left tired and thankful for a day full of friendship, learning and laughter.
In just two days, we’d formed close bonds and were sad that the next day would be our graduation- but happy knowing we had seven new amazing ambassadors for Bliss!
