Best. Weekend. Ever.
Bliss Paddle Yoga Teacher Training
November 9-12, 2012
Sometimes, you have an experience that reminds you of all the reasons you love what you do. This weekend, I was reminded countless times of why I love teaching yoga and paddle boarding. Smiles and the sound of deep, relaxed exhalations as people let go of everything on shore and surrender to Bliss. Yum.
Unity in diversity… what does it mean? When we come together from all different backgrounds, all different styles of yoga, and find our common breath, our common ground… that is unity in diversity.
I am deeply grateful to all the teachers who participated in the November 2012 Bliss paddle yoga teacher training- thank you, and with deepest love and respect, Namaste to each of you.
Day 1: Friday, November 9. Bosu Training and RootsFlowYoga
As we gathered in the lot of Paradise Point resort Friday afternoon, it dawned on both Taylor and I that we had less than ideal conditions for stand up paddling. The wind was blowing onshore hard enough that whitecaps could be seen in the bay, and the sign on the dock office read “closed due to weather.” Hmm.
Positive thinking breeds positive results. Rather than be concerned, we realized that this was the perfect chance to talk about “when to say no to paddling.” Thankfully, we were prepared with Bosu balls and got right down to business practicing and critiquing technique.
We then opened the weekend with a deeply grounding and inspiring RootsFlowYoga practice with Central Coast mermaid yogini Lauren Narayani Neuhs. Her beautiful flowing style of yoga is peppered with mantra and powerful affirmations.
Leaving Friday evening as the sun set over the ocean, I knew we were going to have an awesome weekend.
