Bliss Paddle Yoga Teacher Training Laguna Beach
“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” -jacques cousteau
I hardly know where to begin in describing the January Bliss Paddle Yoga Teacher Training.
Day one found us in Laguna Beach where the skies were sunny and the weather was a balmy 77 degrees. Seven amazing women (from as far as Michigan!) gathered on the rooftop of the Inn at Laguna Beach and agreed immediately that it was too beautiful to stay indoors, so we gleefully walked down to the beach and prepared to paddle.
After exploring water safety, paddle technique, and board anatomy with Bliss founder Taylor Chaput, our group set off into the deep blue sea. The sun was dancing on the water and kissing our skin, and our wildlife company included dolphins and even a gray whale!
Some moments can’t be captured by photography, and smiles were on every single face as we made it to Seal Rock for an amazing meditation session led by Laguna Beach yoga director Amy Wyman.
Blissed out already, we paddled back and met up again at the Inn. Snack time (graciously provided by Pretzel Chips- thanks!) and getting to know each other were a lovely break before we dove right into an uplifting (haha, literally) acro-yoga sesh!
Our amazing guest teachers for acro were the lovely and encouraging Britta Turner and Michelle Jacomovich of San Diego. Uniting our energy, we bonded, laughed, and learned elements of acrobatic/partner yoga and Thai yoga massage.
We ended up staying a full hour later than planned… we were just having that much fun. Winding it down, we closed with a beautiful and healing relaxation. Om shanti~ Namaste.
